Apple's iOS platform initially released in 2007 on iPhone devices and later on iPod and iPad devices. iPods have since been discontinued, but iPads and iPhones remain integral to hospital programs globally.

Apple's macOS is the operating system running on Mac computers and was first released in 2001. Many hospitals use Windows PCs as their desktop option, however there are several programs exclusive to Mac devices that hold value within Child Life programs.
